Sun, rain and moisture can gradually wear down deck boards until routine maintenance is no longer enough. On this project, the existing decking had reached the point where replacement made more sense than trying to extend its life with another repair or coating.
We removed the deteriorated deck boards, addressed the supporting structure as needed, and installed new pressure-treated decking.
One detail we especially like is the picture-frame border. It gives the finished deck a clean edge and turns a necessary replacement into a thoughtful improvement.
